Job Purpose

The Finance specialist will take charge of the financial health of our company by administering accounting operations to meet legal requirements. Our ideal candidate demonstrates interest in managing accounting activities, including bank reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Administer accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Provide a wide range of essential financial analysis to the company operations.
  • Prepare, develop, and analyze reports for decision making purposes.
  • Awareness of the wider business environment in order to drive business growth.
  • Control the cash flow position throughout the company, maintain the integrity of funds and other valuable documents
  • Understand and approve client and vendor business legal contracts, statutory and tax obligations.
  • Communicate the company’s expected and actual performance using financial statement ratio analysis and other reporting tools.
  • Support the company’s accounting and financial functions using job descriptions, policies, and procedures, and methods for automating document control.
  • Ensure the maintenance of appropriate financial records, prepares required financial reports, ensures audits are completed in time and statutory book closing occurs.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in all finance related functions.
  • Assist with the budgeting process to ensure timely completion of the budget, undertake bi-annual budget review and secure Management’s approval for the company annual budget.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Higher National Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or relevant degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting.


  • Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN)

Functional Competencies:

  • Proven experience as a Finance Officer/Accountant.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficient user of finance software e.g. Peachtree, Tally, QuickBooks, Sage.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong demonstrated use of Microsoft Office Tools especially Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
  • Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.
  • Ability to work and effectively communicate with senior-level leadership.
  • Excellent business judgment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Typically sitting at a desk or table.
  • Work is typically performed in an office.
  • Travel at least 20% of the time.
  • Job demands can also be flexible.
